Kurama Reiki Tour
“Where Reiki began — and your path deepens.”
Discover the sacred roots of Reiki at Kurama and Kibune — powerful spiritual sites nestled deep in the mountains of Kyoto.
This guided tour, led in English by Reiki Master Neu, offers more than sightseeing: it’s a journey into the heart of Japanese spirituality, ancient Shinto practices, and the mystical origins of Reiki energy.
Tour Features
▪️Guided Spiritual Tour
Walk through sacred sites such as Kibune Shrine and Kurama-dera Temple while exploring the deep connection between the land, ancient Shinto beliefs, the kami (deities), and the traditional Japanese Reiki taught by Mikao Usui.
This is not a typical tourist tour — it’s designed for those seeking a deeper understanding of the ancient Japanese spiritual path to Satori (悟り) through the practice of Reiki healing.
▪️Reiki Experience & Practice
Throughout the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to experience hands-on Reiki practices such as Reiki Mawashi (Reiki circulation), depending on weather and time. This immersive experience reconnects you with the roots of Reiki in its original setting.
Tour Itinerary
Meeting Point: Kibune Station (or Kurama Station, depending on season and weather)
Kibune Exploration: Visit one of Japan’s oldest water shrines. Learn about the spiritual significance of the area, the ancient Japanese relationship with nature and the kami, early Shintoism, and how all of it relates to Reiki energy.
Mountain Trail Walk: Hike from Kibune to Kurama, stopping at key Reiki-related spots such as Mao-do Hall, Sōjōgatani, and Kinone-michi ("Tree Root Path").
Reiki Practice Session: Optional meditation or Reiki sharing circle (weather and time permitting).
Kurama-dera Temple: Visit the main temple and hidden sacred areas that are rarely accessed by tourists. Neu will guide you through deeper meditation experiences. Amulets and spiritual items are available for purchase.
Optional Lunch Experience: For full-day tours, we offer the option to enjoy a traditional Buddhist shōjin ryōri (精進料理) lunch — a beautifully prepared, plant-based meal rooted in Zen philosophy. It’s a nourishing and contemplative experience that complements the day’s spiritual journey.
Note: Availability may vary depending on the season and booking time. Advance notice and an additional fee may apply.
